ONYX is a fingerprint-based, contactless identification system for a variety of platforms.
ONYX WORKS ON MOST OTHER ANDROID DEVICES, HOWEVER, ADEQUATE TESTING HAS NOT YET BEEN PERFORMED TO CERTIFY THEM "APPROVED"
Most Android devices, including some supported by ONYX (Google Nexus 6, Google Nexus 5, Google Nexus 4, Google Nexus 7 Tablet, Samsung Galaxy S3, Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Motorola X, Motorola G, and some others), have rear-facing cameras that are suitable for capturing the fingerprint image. This image is then matched against a record that you have stored in your device, and a positive identification is made.
ONYX is designed for use in a contactless form of identification. No matter how the authentication happens, your fingerprints are not stored on your device. You do not have to carry any additional device.
